The City of St. Thomas is proud to properly and safely manage its water resources.   The City of St. Thomas uses By-law No. 82-2024 to dictate our sewer usage.  The following documents will help our businesses and residents to play their part.

Automotive Garage Best Management Practices

The above document includes:

  • Oil interceptors
  • Garage Waste disposal and spills
  • Storm Sewers are for rain only

Home Owners Guide to Sewer Use

The above document includes:

  • Food Grinders & Garbage Disposals
  • Improper Sanitary Sewer Connections (ie. basement drains, laundry hookups, etc.)
  • Household Hazardous waste doesn't go down the drain (ie. spills, paint, chemicals, drugs, etc)
  • Storm Sewers are for rain only
