Community Grants

The City of St. Thomas offers Community Grants to help non-profit, community-based organizations run projects, initiatives and events that improve life for St. Thomas residents.

We created this program to give community organizations a fair and transparent way to access city funding, whether that's direct financial support, a fee waiver or in-kind services. Most grants go up to $3,500.

Who can apply

Your organization must be a registered non-profit that directly benefits the community. You can't already receive other City funding or be behind on payments to the City, and you can't be an organization that gives grants to others.

We give preference to projects that line up with council's strategic priorities, and we don't fund day-to-day operating costs, fundraising drives, or activities that happen outside St. Thomas.

View the full Community Grants Policy for complete eligibility rules and how we evaluate applications.

How to apply

We accept applications twice a year, with funding allocated in January and August. Submit your application before the first of either month to be considered for that round.
