Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)
Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is waste that is hazardous but comes from an average household in small amounts, such as leftover paint or used batteries. Because these materials can harm people or the environment if placed in the garbage or poured down the drain, we offer a depot where you can drop them off for proper disposal.
Where and when to drop off HHW
Bring your HHW to the Community Recycling Centre.
We accept HHW on Wednesdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There is no fee to drop off HHW.
Drop-off requirements
- bring materials in their original or clearly marked container to indicate the contents
- make sure all containers are securely capped and sealed
- keep liquid waste containers to 20 litres or less. We do not accept barrels or drums of waste
- the container and its contents must be left at the depot. Material will not be decanted
