Council
St. Thomas City Council is elected by residents to provide leadership and make decisions on behalf of the community. Council is responsible for setting municipal priorities, establishing policies, approving the annual budget and making decisions about City programs, services, infrastructure and growth.
City Council is made up of the Mayor and eight Councillors, who serve four-year terms. Council considers information and recommendations from City staff, committees and community partners before making decisions at public meetings.
