Dead animals

Dead animals should not be placed in the Green Cart or recycling.

On City property
Contact Customer Service to report dead wildlife. The City collects larger wildlife, such as squirrels, but does not collect small animals, such as birds or rodents.

On private property
For small dead animals, wear gloves, double-bag the animal, tie the bag securely and place it at the curb with your regular garbage collection.

For larger animals, such as coyotes or deer, contact Customer Service to request a pickup.

Safety reminder
If you handle a dead animal, wear gloves, avoid direct contact, double-bag the animal, tie the bag securely and wash your hands thoroughly afterward.

You may also choose to hire a private pest control or wildlife removal company.
