Street Naming

The City of St. Thomas maintains a Street Names Inventory. Council approves new subdivision street names New streets in the city must be named using a name from this inventory or the Developer’s requested names.

How street names are chosen

We consider street names for the inventory based on criteria in our Street Name Policy and Procedures and our Municipal Addressing By-law.

Request a street name

Follow these steps to request a street name for the inventory:

1. complete the Street Name Request Application
2. drop off or mail your application to the City Clerk's Office:
