The Building Services Department is responsible for building permits and enforcement of the Building Code Act , Ontario Building Code, and other applicable legislation including the Building By-Law, Property Standards By-Law, & some signs under the Sign By-law.

Applications for Permits can be submitted online through Cloudpermit: https://ca.cloudpermit.com/stthomas/

Application Status Explanations:

  • “Draft” status means it has not been submitted to use to commence any reviews.
  • “Changes Requested” status means we are waiting on something by you to be provided to continue the review.

Please note that Building Inspectors are often in and out of the office throughout the day conducting inspections. If you wish to speak with a Building Inspector in person, it is best to request an appointment to ensure that one can be in the office to assist you. Please email or call so that we can provide a response in a timely manner.
