Proposal to Name Pickleball Courts in Honour of Dave Hall Enters Public Consultation

The City of St. Thomas is inviting members of the community to provide feedback on a proposal to rename the pickleball courts at Pinafore Park in honour of the late Dave Hall.
The request, submitted by the St. Thomas Pickleball Club, proposes the name “Dave Hall Pickleball Courts” to recognize Mr. Hall’s significant contributions to the growth and development of the sport in St. Thomas and beyond.
Dave Hall was instrumental in establishing the St. Thomas Pickleball Club in 2013, advocating for dedicated courts, securing improvements to existing facilities, and fostering community through tournaments and charitable initiatives. His efforts have had a lasting impact on local recreation and sport.
In accordance with the City’s Parks and Recreation Naming Policy, a 30-day public consultation period is required before any decision is made. Residents are encouraged to review the proposal and share their input by completing a short online survey. All responses will be recorded anonymously.
The consultation will run from July 2, 2025 until July 31, 2025 at 11:59 p.m.

Public input will be compiled and presented to City Council for consideration following the consultation period.
