Free On-Demand Transit This New Year’s Eve

The City of St. Thomas is pleased to offer free, safe, and convenient On-Demand transit service on New Year’s Eve.

The On-Demand service will operate from 5:45 p.m. on December 31 to 2:45 a.m. on January 1, with the final pickup scheduled for 2:15 a.m. This service provides convenient pickups and dropoffs at requested bus stops, offering door-to-door service for parallel transit users.

Residents are encouraged to plan ahead and book their rides early. All trips must be booked at least one hour in advance.

How to Book Your Ride:

Before booking, please:

  • Identify your nearest bus stop number or closest intersection with a bus stop

  • Determine your preferred pickup or dropoff time

  • Know the number of people in your party

Bookings are first-come, first-served, and every effort will be made to accommodate your requested time.


You can book your ride by:

  • Downloading the “RCT On Demand” app by Via (available on iOS and Android)

  • Booking online through RCT OnDemand

  • Calling 519-631-0001

Booking in Advance?:

  • Evening rides (before midnight): Pre-booking opens at 9:30 a.m. on December 31

  • Late-night rides (after midnight): Pre-booking opens at 7:15 p.m. on December 31


Please Remember:

  • Arrive at your bus stop at least 5 minutes early

  • Drivers cannot wait for late arrivals

  • Demand may be high - flexibility is appreciated
