Become a GrandPal Volunteer (Ages 55+)
Posted on 02/05/2026
The GrandPals Program is returning in 2026, and older adults (55+) from St. Thomas and surrounding communities are invited to volunteer.

GrandPals is a meaningful intergenerational program that brings older adults into a classroom setting to build connections with children through conversation, storytelling, and shared learning. The program was successfully piloted in 2025 and is expanding this year to include additional classrooms in a neighbouring community.

Older adults from St. Thomas and nearby areas who enjoy working with children, sharing life experiences, and forming new friendships are encouraged to apply.

  • 8-week commitment (March to early June 2026)
