Posted on 06/22/2026
The City of St. Thomas is pleased to announce the official launch of its new community engagement platform, Speak Up, St. Thomas. Powered by Social Point, the platform represents a significant step forward in how the City connects with residents, gathers feedback, and builds a more engaged and informed community.
Speak Up, St. Thomas is a modern digital engagement tool designed to make it easier for residents to participate in local decision-making. Municipal engagement tools like this provide an accessible, centralized space where community members can learn about City projects, share feedback, ask questions, and collaborate directly with staff. By offering 24/7 access, the platform helps remove barriers to participation and ensures that more voices can be heard.
The new platform will support the City’s vision to Build a Brighter Future by creating opportunities for meaningful dialogue between residents and the municipality. Through Speak Up, St. Thomas, users can receive regular updates on City initiatives, contribute ideas, post questions and comments, and engage on a wide range of topics—from infrastructure projects to parks, planning, and community services.
“Engagement is essential to strong, responsive local government,” said Mayor Joe Preston. “Speak Up, St. Thomas gives our residents a convenient, inclusive way to share their perspectives and play an active role in shaping the future of our city. We’re excited to open this new channel for collaboration and conversation.”
The platform is a key initiative within the City’s Strategic Plan and broader communications strategy, reflecting a continued commitment to transparency, accessibility, and innovation in the delivery of public services.
“This platform enhances how we connect with our community,” said City Manager Lisa Higgs. “Speak Up, St. Thomas allows us to better understand residents’ needs and priorities while providing clear, consistent updates on City projects. It’s an important tool that strengthens trust and helps ensure our decision-making is informed by the people we serve.”
Residents are encouraged to sign up, explore the platform, participate in active projects, and help shape the future of St. Thomas. The City will continue to add new engagement opportunities regularly, ensuring ongoing dialogue and collaboration.
