Woodworth Avenue Construction
Highway 3 Expressway to South Edgeware Road

Work on Woodworth Avenue from Highway 3 Expressway to South Edgeware Road will begin on Monday March 9th and will continue until August.  To safely complete the project, Woodworth Avenue will be closed, and traffic will be detoured around the construction zone.

The Woodworth Avenue Construction project is the first project in a multi-phase plan for the reconstruction of infrastructure in the City’s north end. This portion of Woodworth Avenue is due for reconstruction to renew and add underground infrastructure, improve drainage, urbanize the cross-section, and provide additional sewer capacity to St. Thomas. The project provides an opportunity for the addition of a sidewalk on the west side of the street creating new connections for the Active Transportation network, increasing accessibility, and improving pedestrian safety. The Woodworth Avenue design follows the City’s Complete Street Guidelines to make the street accessible for roadway users of all ages and abilities.
