Join us for public skating on Sunday afternoons at the Joe Thornton Community Centre.

Dates and times

Sundays from 1:15 to 2:45 p.m. (September to May)

Fall 2026 blackout dates: October 18, November 22, December 6

Cost

Single admission (all ages) $5

Family (up to 5, including 1 adult) $15

Rules

  • maximum capacity is 175 skaters
  • children 12 and under must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet. We strongly recommend a face cage too
  • skates must be worn at all times on the ice. Regular footwear is not allowed
  • follow the posted direction and flow of skating
  • follow staff instructions at all times
  • report any incidents or injuries to Ice Cruisers or staff right away

Not permitted on the ice

  • skate assists, skating aids, chairs or walkers
  • strollers or carriers
  • food or drinks
  • cell phone use
  • sticks, pucks, balls or toys
  • backward skating
  • racing, speed skating or games of tag
  • figure skating manoeuvres, spins or jumps
  • carrying another person
  • throwing snow or ice

Safety expectations

  • skate in control at all times
  • watch for beginner skaters and children
  • unsafe behaviour may result in removal from the ice
