2026 Municipal Election: Voting Now Underway

Voting is now open for the 2026 Municipal Election in the City of St. Thomas.

The voting period begins today, Tuesday, October 13, at 10:00 a.m. and continues until Monday, October 26 at 8:00 p.m.

Eligible electors can cast their ballot by internet or telephone at any time during the voting period, providing flexibility for residents who may be working, travelling or otherwise away from St. Thomas.

Voters will need their Voter Information Letter to cast their ballot. The letter contains important voting information, including the personal identification number (PIN) required to access the electronic voting system.

The City is also providing Voter Assistance Centres at select dates and locations throughout the voting period. City staff will be available to assist electors who require assistance, and devices will be available for those who do not have access to a computer, tablet or telephone.

Eligible electors who are not on the Voters’ List or need to update their information can visit the City Clerk’s Office at Level 2, City Hall, 545 Talbot Street, during regular business hours, Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications can also be completed in-person at any of the City’s Voter Assistance Centres. Electors should bring a piece of identification when applying to be added to or update the Voters’ List.

Residents are encouraged to visit the City’s 2026 Municipal Election hub on Speak Up, St. Thomas for the complete list of certified candidates, voting instructions, Voter Assistance Centre information, Voters’ List information and other election resources.
