What are your resident rates? Are they different from other long term care homes?
Our rates are set by the Ministry of Health and Long Term Care and are the same across the province. The current monthly rates are: Private $2701.61, Semi-Private $2280.04 and Basic $1891.31. Additional information is available on our Accommodation & Rates page.
Is there 24-hour medical coverage?
We provide 24-hour full medical coverage. A Registered Nurse (RN), a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and Nursing Attendants are on duty at all times. The registered staff administers all medications to our residents.
Does the home provide physical aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, etc.?
Physical aids are available for general use, but for continued use we suggest getting an aid that is fitted specifically to your needs and the Therapy Department can assist with this process.
What type of activities and social programming do you provide?
Activation staff provide a variety of programs suited to the residents' abilities and interests and to celebrate special occasions and seasons.
Can we bring in furniture?
Bringing in furniture depends on how much room is available. We strongly encourage all residents to personalize their rooms with pictures, personal effects, etc.
Is the resident allowed to keep a pet?
Pets can visit provided they are friendly, compatible, immunized and under the control of their owner by leash at all times.
Can my parents live in the same room?
Parents are placed together at their request, often in a semi-private room.
What type of clothing should we purchase?
Clothing should be comfortable, machine washable, and adaptable.

Are meals prepared and cooked in the facility?
Meals are prepared on site and served to our residents in dining rooms central to each resident home area.
Does the menu offer choice?
Every meal offers a main menu and an alternate selection. Menus are developed with input from the residents during the Resident's Council Meeting.
Are special diets available?
Special diets to suit nutritional needs are provided. We have a dietitian who assesses and monitors diets daily.
Can family bring in gifts of food?
Gifts of food are accepted; however, we are not able to store perishable food items.
Can the family have meals with the resident?
Family and friends are welcome to have a meal with residents. There is a nominal fee for the meal. Please give the kitchen notice by 10:30 a.m. for lunch and 3:30 p.m. for supper.
Are there visiting hours?
There are no set visiting hours; this is our residents' home and you are welcome. Please see the Registered Nurse Supervisor prior to a visit.
Do you provide religious services?
Pastoral Care is provided through our Activation Department. Religious services are held throughout the month by various denominations.

Are residents able to go home with family for overnight visits?
Our residents are able to go home with family for overnight visits as per the Ministry Standards which indicate that residents are entitled to 2 overnight casual days away weekly. For safety reasons we ask that if you are taking a resident out for coffee or shopping that you sign them out at the nursing station.
