The City of St Thomas offers many activities and programs where you can drop in at the scheduled time without prior registration. All drop-in programs are located at the Joe Thornton Community Centre (75 Caso Crossing).

The drop-in schedule varies depending on season.

  • Winter – January – March
  • Spring – April – June
  • Summer – July-September     
  • Fall – October-December

Please note that the schedule is dependent on facility bookings and changes may occur. We will continue to update facility signage and the website when there will be no programming.

Scheduled black-out dates are indicated on the flyer(s), as there will be no programs running that day due to other activities or facility bookings.

Drop-In Gym

There are drop-in programs in the Doug Tarry gym Sunday to Friday.  It is $4 per person.

  • Pickleball – beginners, intermediate, advanced and all skill level
  • Badminton – All Levels

Drop-In Skating

Our indoor arenas are the perfect way to stay active in the winter months and all year round. Children 12 and under are required to wear a CSA approved hockey helmet.

Drop-In Aquatics

  • Public Swims: Come for a swim with your family and friends at Jaycee Pool this summer. We have public swims 7 days a week from July-August.
  • Aquafit: Aquafit is an in-water fitness class designed to strengthen your muscles and improve your cardiovascular fitness. Working out in water adds resistance to your muscles without the impact land activities can have on your joints.
  • Lane Swim: At least one of the pool lanes are available for lap swimming. Recommended for teens/adults—lap swimming only.

Fitness Track

The fitness track hours are 8am-8pm. The track is closed at 5pm on Friday evenings before STARS games and holidays. There are lockers available for use with your own lock.
