Parkside Drive and Bell Avenue Construction

The City plans to reconstruct Parkside Drive and Bell Avenue.  Additionally, a sidewalk on the east of Sunset Drive will be installed to link Parkside Collegiate Institute (PCI) to the existing sidewalk just North of Wilson Avenue as well as a Traffic Signal at Sunset Drive and PCI.  This work is being undertaken as part of the continuing effort to renew aging infrastructure, using the Complete Streets approach.

  • Pending council approval, construction is expected to begin April 2023.
  • A Public Information Centre has been scheduled at City Hall for February 15th, from 6-8pm to review the project.

Project Overview
  • Dewatering;
  • Replacement of existing of sanitary sewers including service connections;
  • Replacement of existing storm sewers including catchbasins;
  • Replacement of existing watermain including service connections;
  • Reconstruction of existing roadway, curb and gutter and sidewalk;
  • Streetscape landscaping;
  • Line markings and signage.
Project overview
Announcements
This project is scheduled to begin April of 2023 and is to be complete by November.  The contractor will do their best to maintain driveway access and access to Parkside Drive and Bell Avenue.  Notice will be provided when disruptions are to occur.
