The City plan to reconstruct Pullen Avenue from Aldborough Avenue to Elm Street.  This work is being undertaken as part of the continuing effort to renew aging infrastructure, using the Complete Streets approach.

The new streetscape will feature standard lane widths, grass boulevard, and improved accessibility through the installation of a new sidewalk on the West side of the road.

During construction the road will be closed to through traffic but will remain open to local traffic.

Work Involved

  • Remove existing asphalt and concrete within the City right-of-way
  • Remove and replace existing sewers and watermain
  • Install new asphalt road surface, curbs and gutters, sidewalks and sidewalk ramps
  • Replace existing streetlights
  • Restore with topsoil and sod in disturbed lawn areas

The project is scheduled to start sometime between the middle and end of August and is to be completed by November.  The contractor will do their best to maintain driveway access and access to Francis Street North and South and will provided notice when disruptions are to occur.
