A plumbing permit is required when any plumbing system is constructed, repaired, renewed or altered.
A plumbing permit is formal permission from the municipality to construct plumbing and protects the health and safety of all residents by ensuring that all plumbing systems are properly installed so as not to become a health hazard. It is the building and/or property owner's responsibility to ensure that a plumbing permit is obtained when required.
Application for plumbing permits can be made through Building Services, a section of the Environmental Services Department.
Questions about plumbing permits can be directed to (519) 631-1680 ext. 4160.
